Seaman 2nd Class Abasta was a member of the Naval Armed Guard aboard the Merchant ship SS Warrior. The ship was hit by two torpedoes fired from U-126, 125 miles East of Trinidad. Although the ship was rapidly sinking, Seaman 2nd Class Abasta and the crew of the forward 3 inch gun fired at the U-boat and were lost when the ship sank minutes later.
