Sergeant Weekley was killed when he led a squad of riflemen in clearing a group of houses while facing fierce enemy sniper and automatic weapons fire. Sergeant Weekley and two of his men found the snipers and took out their base of operations. One hour later Sergeant Weekley was killed by another round of enemy sniper fire. Sergeant Weekley also received the Bronze Star for his heroic actions the day he was killed. Sgt. Weekly is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold France
